The Oregon Donor to release "A Pageant's End" in October

Press release for The Oregon Donor's upcoming release on Burning Building:

THE OREGON DONOR
PREP NEW BURNING BUILDING RELEASE FOR OCTOBER

New full-length from young, buzzing band

Seattle, WA, July 3rd, 2009 – Anacortes, WA is turning into the hub for a next generation of great Pacific Northwest talent. Burning Building Recordings is now gearing up to introduce you to another band hailing from the small town, The Oregon Donor.

Oft-compared to the likes of Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Faraquet, The Oregon Donor have crafted A Pageant’s End, officially due out October 6, 2009. Having taken the last year to win live audiences over, most notably opening a sold out show with UK band The Wombats at Chop Suey in Seattle, the young 4-piece is eager and ready to capture the ears of the Northwest music scene and beyond. Songs like “Morse Code” showcase the band’s perfected ability for writing catchy pop tunes with just enough Built to Spill-ish jam session qualities to make them interesting. In addition, A Pageant’s End displays the band’s growth – darker, grittier, and more epic than any previous work.

The Oregon Donor is Christopher Edwards (lead guitar, vocals), Lance Umble (guitar), Jesse Cohen (bass), and Kyle Holland (drums). In response to a recent live set, Three Imaginary Girls exclaimed "They're young, ferociously passionate, with a progressive sound both energetic and expansive... one of the very best live bands that I've encountered in the past few months."

Daniel G. Harmann & TTS Stranger preview - "it's pretty lively mope rock"

This Friday (26th), the guys will be playing down in Georgetown at the Jules Maes w/ Osaka Explosion.

Check out the preview of the show in this week's Stranger Up & Coming:

"(Jules Maes) Daniel G. Harmann's newest release, the Our Arms EP, finds the stalwart Seattle musician expanding and further electrifying his beautiful downer ballads with the help of his band, the Trouble Starts. In the past, Harmann has sometimes played things lo-fi and spare, and while his foggy singing and his sad songs certainly don't suffer from that treatment, they tend to land with a little more satisfying weight this way. The songs are still sleepy-headed and soft, but they're wrapped up in warm, buzzing guitars against far-off echoes, with hard-hit drums holding everything down. It's mope rock for sure, but it's pretty lively mope rock." ERIC GRANDY

The new EP, Our Arms, is available via iTunes and AmazonMP3 now... and if you're lucky enough, there might be a few free copies handed out at the show on Friday.
